Urban Exchange Philosophy

Give Back Without Writing A Check

We are all too familiar with requests made by friends and neighbors to write a check in support of their favorite charity. As these initiatives are well intentioned, most of us write a check to support a friend’s good work.  Funding a charity is, and should be, a very personal decision. At Urban Exchange we believe charity can happen without giving money.
  • We don't ask for your money or even your time
  • We ask for donations of household items you no longer need!
In exchange for these goods, you have our assurance of direct face to face delivery to a local family in need.

While donating goods is not a new concept, finding an appropriate destination can be problematic. Pick-up and delivery can be a burden and the final destination is usually unknown. At Urban Exchange, all sponsored families

  • have been recommended by accredited resources
  • approved by Director Terry Brantly, an Intensive Supervision Program Officer
Less than 10 miles down the road, families struggle to put food on the table. Parents sleep on floors while their kids sleep in the only bed in the house.
  • Will you change a family's life with an Urban Exchange?
  • What about that kitchen table and chairs you just replaced?
  • Or those Abercrombie clothes that don’t fit your daughter any longer?
Drop us an e-mail. Our Delivery Boys –all Ramapo High School Students – are ready to pick up your stuff to make a door to door Urban Exchange!
